FAQS
frequently asked questions
I’m pregnant. Can I still have a treatment done?
Yes ofcourse! Many of our treatments can still be safely performed during pregnancy. Most Phase 1 Skin Rehab and Phase 4 Skin Maintenance treatments are pregnancy-friendly, as they focus on barrier repair, hydration, calming inflammation and overall skin health without the use of aggressive corrective ingredients. Treatment suitability will always be assessed prior to your appointment to ensure your skin and pregnancy stage are supported safely.
How old do you have to be to have a facial?
We welcome both adults and teenagers for treatment! Teen skin can benefit greatly from early guidance, particularly for concerns such as congestion, breakouts, oil imbalance and barrier disruption. All teenage treatments are customised according to age, skin condition and sensitivity to ensure a gentle but effective approach.
Can I do one of the skin programs or package treatments?
Yes, we offer structured skin programs for clients wanting a long-term corrective approach to acne, pigmentation, bridal preparation and overall skin transformation. These programs are designed to deliver more consistent and visible results through a planned treatment pathway rather than sporadic one-off appointments. Flexible payment plans are also available across selected programs. We offer Afterpay or weekly installments via Square.

I’m a new client. Do I need to book a consultation first?
Not always. If you are booking for a general skin refresh, hydration treatment, maintenance facial or Phase 1 Skin Rehab treatment, you are welcome to proceed directly with a treatment booking.
For clients with more complex or inflammatory concerns such as active acne, sensitised skin, significant pigmentation or those wanting a corrective skin journey, a consultation may be recommended so we can properly assess your skin and map out the most suitable treatment plan.
How do I know which treatment phase to book?
If you are unsure which phase is best suited to your skin, do not worry! All treatments are customised on the day according to your skin condition and goals.
As a general guide, Phase 1 Skin Rehab is ideal for sensitive, compromised or first-time clients needing barrier support, while Phase 4 Skin Maintenance is suited to those simply wanting hydration, glow and upkeep.
Clients with more active concerns such as acne, pigmentation, congestion or texture concerns will generally progress into Phase 2 Skin Correction or Phase 3 Skin Renewal, however your skin will always be assessed at your appointment to ensure the most appropriate treatment is performed.
If you are ever uncertain, booking ‘Therapist Recommendation’ under existing client or a Phase 1 treatment is always a safe place to begin!
What is the difference between an express and full treatment?
Our express treatments are more results-focused and treatment intensive, concentrating primarily on the skin itself within a shorter appointment time.
Our full treatments allow additional time for extended treatment steps as well as our signature relaxation ritual, including arm, hand, shoulder and neck massage. This option is ideal for clients wanting both corrective skin work and a more indulgent experience.
Both options are fully customised to your skin’s needs, the difference simply comes down to appointment length and the level of relaxation included.
How often should I have a treatment done?
Treatment frequency depends on your skin goals and current skin condition. Some clients book occasional maintenance treatments, while others on a corrective journey may be advised to attend every 2–4 weeks for best results. Your therapist will guide you on the most suitable treatment schedule based on your skin plan.
Will I need to use skincare at home as well?
Homecare plays an important role in maintaining and accelerating your in-clinic results. While not every client is required to purchase a full routine, using the correct products at home allows us to support barrier health, prolong results and treat concerns more effectively between appointments.
Is there downtime after my treatment?
Most treatments involve little to no downtime and many clients return straight back to daily activities. Some corrective or advanced treatments may result in temporary redness, warmth, mild flaking or sensitivity depending on the intensity of the treatment performed. Full aftercare will always be provided to ensure your skin heals comfortably and achieves the best possible result.
Do you offer customised treatments?
Yes most definitely. Our treatments performed at SSR Clinic is customised to your skin’s current condition rather than following a one-size-fits-all facial protocol. Your skin is assessed at each appointment and treatment steps, actives and modalities are adjusted accordingly to ensure the most beneficial outcome.
